Swingin'

Jack's second swim class went well. He still didn't seem to enjoy it, but he also didn't hate it so I guess that's good! It was very hot here this weekend. After swim class we went to a farmer's market, then to lunch, then to the park. It was too hot to stay for long, but Jack got to swing for the first time and I got some great pics.

This is my favorite picture! I just wish the date stamp wasn't there.

We went home and cooled off and got a couple more cute pictures:

Jack had banana on Friday for the first time. He loved it! But soon after I took these pictures, he pooped all over his shirt and let me just tell you....banana poop is gross! I much prefer sweet potato poop. I'll spare you the details. :)

I gave Jack some frozen banana in a mesh feeder today and he really loved it! He was going crazy and sucked it clean. Well, almost. That thing is a pain to clean! I can't wait to introduce apples and other yummy things that can go in the feeder. I would imagine it's very refreshing, especially on his tender gums. Jack is now getting banana in the morning and sweet potatoes in the evening. I'm going to give him peas next, then apples and carrots. I'm actually really looking forward to making my own applesauce. Yummy!

I have made the decision to cloth diaper. I never expected I would ever want to, but I think it would be best in the long run. I'm only going to do it nights and weekends and once I get comfortable with it, talk to his daycare provider and see what she says about doing it there. Ever since he started sleeping on his stomach, he leaks out the top of his diaper. We're going through 2 diapers and 2 changes of pajamas every night. Moving up to a bigger size might help, but rather than spend more money on disposables, I'm going to give cloth diapering a try. After yesterday's poop blow-out, I was thinking, "How am I going to do this when I start with cloth?" His shirt got pretty gross and part of me wanted to just throw it away. Instead, I rinsed it out and put in the wash and you can't even tell it ever got dirty. I didn't enjoy having to rinse it and deal with it, but it really wasn't that bad. I need to do a lot more research before I invest the money, but I recently bought a huge box of Pampers Cruisers (found some at Buy Buy Baby without the new dry max so I got the jumbo size!) so I've got time to figure it out. I'm definitely doing it though and I'm actually pretty excited. Who knew I'd be such a "crunchy" mom? Breastfeeding, homemade baby food, babywearing, and now cloth diapering. I never expected to love it so much! But then again, I never expected to have the cutest, chubbiest little baby who I adore and love more than anything!

I love that swing picture! Do you have Photoshop? I'm sure it can be taken off / digitally deleted. If you don't have Photoshop and want to email me a copy of the picture, I can play around and see if I can get it off for you. I'm no wizard at PS, but I do have a little familiarity with the program.

I'm excited to hear how cloth diapering goes for you! It seems like recently I've heard from a lot of people who are giving it a try!

To answer your question about Asher's nap...I put him down around the same time each day and he sleeps then. He doesn't necessarily seem tired when I lay him down, but he's always out within 10 minutes, so I guess he must be tired. It's kind of a "chicken or the egg" type thing!

Such adorable pictures - it looks like he LOVED swinging! I'm hoping to take Ava to swing at the park this week as long as she can go outside again. She's been housebound thanks to her rash, but it's getting so much better :)

I, too, am interested to hear about cloth diapering. I was giving it a thought when Ava's diapers were leaking all the time, but then we realized it was a dairy issue, not a diaper issue, so I stuck with disposables because I'm totally lazy.

Gosh he is so adorable! I now have 8 cloth diapers and we are going to start when we get back from our trip! I have been doing so much research. you should check out the dirty diaper laundry link on my blog. Its a box on the bottom right side. She has awesome reviews of soooo many diapers. Good luck in your journey and I hope you are able to convince your daycare lady easily! We can share in this journey since we'll be starting about the sdame time ; ) lol.

He is SOOO cute! I can't believe how big he is already. I added you to my blog roll too!

Congrats on the choice to cloth diaper. I am using inserts and covers and it works really well (and it's one of the cheaper options). I really recommend Flats to wrap around the prefolds - they are so much easier to clean and ridiculously cheap, so if it gets really stained, you can toss it! Good luck!

Presley leaks out the top of her diaper too! I tried buying a bigger size diaper and it helped a little, but we still had leaks. Can't wait to hear how the cloth diapering goes.

That swing pic is soooooo Cute. Well, all the pics are so cute. He seems like he is such a happy happy baby!
