In other news, Jack is now rolling over from his back to belly all the time. It's crazy to watch him. I can't believe how big he's getting! He's also getting a lot better at grabbing things. He has toys that attach to his bouncer that he's able to grab now. He doesn't just reach out and grab it, but he does get it fairly quickly and painlessly. I'm so proud of my big boy!
This was taken right after he rolled over
Jack is also sleeping on his tummy now. It was a little scary at first, but even if I put him down on his back, he gets himself onto his stomach on his own. He had been getting up around 4am to eat, then going back to sleep until 6 or 7. For 2 nights in a row, while on his stomach, he slept right through! The last 2 nights he's gotten up at 5 which is fine by me. There were nights he'd wake up at midnight or 2 and then again at 4. He wasn't crying or hungry, just awake and couldn't get back to sleep. He is sleeping so much better now! Being on his stomach helps him to sleep more soundly and he wakes up well rested.
We had our first swim class today. The timing was actually pretty bad; the class starts at 10:30. Jack fell asleep on the way there and that probably affected how he did in the class. I'm hoping to get him to nap before class in the future. There were about 6 babies total, and even though it starts at 3 months, Jack was the youngest. The other babies had also already been in class before, but it was Jack's first time in a pool. I got a lot of comments about how good he did for his first time. He wasn't upset at all, but he also didn't smile or seem happy to be there. He was just taking it all in. We sang songs and played, but this is actually the beginning of Jack learning to swim. He was on his back, his head rested on my shoulder, and I moved his feet to kick them in the water. We did the same thing with him on his stomach, moving his arms to mimic swimming. They also had us blow bubbles, but Jack just looked at me like I was a crazy person! Before we go in to blow bubbles, we count 1, 2, 3 and take a big breath in to hold, then go a little under and blow bubbles. The instructor said it's really important to emphasize taking in that breath, because they have to learn to hold their breath. Because it was Jack's first day, he went in to his chin. She said that each week he'll go a little further under and on the 5th and last week, he should go all the way under. I was actually really nervous today and the idea of putting him all the way under freaks me out! I hope he learns to hold his breath in the next 5 weeks!
Tomorrow we're going to relax and play at home. I'm planning on making sweet potatoes for the first time! I'll let you all know how it goes. Enjoy the weekend!

Such a cute picture!!!
Wow - I didn't realize that it was such an in depth swim class! I thought you'd just be bouncing around in the water just getting them used to being inside! I'd be nervous about putting Ava under also - I wonder if we'll be doing that in ours!?
I'm definitely curious to see how making sweet potatoes will go! That's what I'm going to start out with!
Love the picture - our Jacks are just the cutest!!!
