Jack is fast asleep so I thought I'd use this opportunity to write a quick update. I'm watching last week's Lost and trying to have a little "me" time. Unless Jack decides to stay up a little later, from 8-9 I watch TV and work on sudoku puzzles. It might not sound like much, but it's nice to have the down time and I need it in order to relax before going to bed. Jack is still waking up to eat at night (about 3 times) so if I don't go to bed by 9, I don't get enough sleep. This means I have been missing out on some of my favorite shows like Heroes and Grey's Anatomy, but sleep is way more important than TV!
The first day back at work went well. I'm extremely busy at work getting reacquainted with everything and catching up so I don't have time to stare at the clock. When I took Jack to daycare for the first time, I was very nervous. He didn't cry though and neither did I! The daycare provider did call me at work midmorning to let me know that Jack had finished one bottle and was taking a nap. That was a huge relief because I worried he wouldn't do well with bottles or napping. He did ok with both and today he did even better! She is very good with him and puts my mind at ease. I miss him terribly all day, but at least I know he is well taken care of.
It rained yesterday and this morning was gloomy, but by this afternoon it was sunny and beautiful! On my way to pick up Jack I had my sun roof open and sang along to Sweet Child O' Mine on the radio. It was great! As much as I miss Jack and wish he was with me all the time, it was great to have that 10 minute drive to myself. When he's in the car I don't open the sun roof or put the windows all the way down because the air is still cool. But I love getting the fresh air on a sunny day and this was the first time this year I was able to do that. If I have to be away from him, at least I can try to enjoy it a little!
Pumping isn't as bad as I expected. Mostly it's just annoying. I'm pumping 3 times every day and yesterday I was able to get 3 5-ounce bottles. I think he only needs 3 at daycare but I want to send him with 4 just to be safe. Today I was only able to pump 2 1/2 bottles. Each time I pump I get a little bit less than the time before. I don't understand why this is. As long as I can get 3 full bottles every day I'll be happy. I don't have a big freezer stash but will try to pump on weekend mornings to build it up a little for days I might not be able to pump enough. It's hard work but I know it's what best for both of us!
It's going to take some time to get adjusted to the new schedule. I don't have a lot of time to spend with Jack. I pick him up by 5:30 and get home by 5:45. I have to clean bottles and my pump accessories, refill my water bottles for the next day, find something quick for dinner, and make my sandwich for the next day's lunch (sometimes I make it in the morning). At some point I feed Jack and we go upstairs to start our bedtime routine between 7 and 7:30. He is usually asleep by 8:30. Tonight I wanted to do a little tummy time because I don't know if he's doing it at daycare or not. Plus I wanted to spend some time with him. I left the TV off and took my Lean Cuisine pizza on the floor and we had some tummy time. It was nice to have those 15 minutes together. It's not much but it's better than nothing! I'm also hoping that he rolls over for the first time in my presence so I do have a bit of a hidden agenda! :) He is holding his head up very well; I'm really impressed.
Pretty soon he'll be on the move! I think I mentioned that I was selling some items at the TotSwap this past weekend. Well the totals are in and it looks like I'll be getting a check for $34. Not a lot but I didn't have much to sell and most of what I did have sold. Plus I only get 50% of the sales. I'll have more to sell when they come back in September. I also found some really great things for Jack. Look at this cute suitcase, brand new for $5!
I can't wait to use it when we go up to NY to visit family. It's not very big but it'll be good for packing Jack's clothes and when he's walking, he'll be able to carry it himself. Too cute!
It's almost time for bed so I better end it here. Good night!

I'm glad to hear that your return to work has been going pretty well. I am still struggling with it a little, but I know it's the only option that we have right now. I don't know if it's bad that Bennett doesn't go to bed until 10 or 11.... ??? How frequently does Jack wake up at night? That suitcase is ADORABLE!! I love consignment stuff...
