First Trip to the Park

We've been having beautiful weather here in the D.C. area and today I took Jack for a little walk. We stopped at one of the nearby parks; our first of many trips! It was also his first time in the stroller without the infant seat.

There was a nice couple with an older baby and the mom was nice enough to take a picture for me. They were leaving when we got there but hopefully we'll see them in the future.

Jack is still too small for the baby swings (I'm hoping we can test those out in May) but we sat on the big swing together.

He was really calm the whole time. I think he liked looking around at everything. It was great getting out and enjoying some fresh air. I can't wait until he can actually play though!

He has recently started focusing hard on his hanging toys. He gets really excited and will stare at them for a long time. I'm waiting for the day he grabs one. He can also now see himself in the mirror on his activity mat.
Shortly after this, I took his pants off to let his legs get some air while he kicked them around. I figured while I was down there I could also change his wet diaper. He then peed all over the mat!

Yesterday we did tummy time on the boppy for the first time. I've heard from other moms that it works well and Jack loved it! We'll definitely do it in addition to regular tummy time.

And last but certainly not least, here is Jack in my new favorite outfit (which I put him into after he peed everywhere!)

It even has a really cute hood:
I love the colors and it fits him perfectly.

We went to something tonight called a Tot Swap. It's a children's consignment sale that comes around twice a year. I have some things I'm selling this time around. I like it because the seller creates their own tags and prices. We get 50% of sales and a check will be mailed within one week after the end of the sale. You can pick up whatever doesn't sell or donate them. It starts tomorrow and goes all weekend. In September I went to the new mom sale they had. This time around, as a consignor, I was able to go today at 5 (the new mom sale started at 7). I got some summer outfits but what I'm happiest about is the 5 Eric Carlisle books I got all for $11!! I'm sure you've heard of "The Hungry Hungry Caterpillar" or "The Grouchy Ladybug". They're great books and I'm looking forward to introducing Jack to them. There were some bigger items (like high chairs) that I was interested in but I stuck to the smaller things and walked out of there only spending $45. I would have loved getting a jogging stroller but there weren't any good ones. I'm happy with our finds though and for not spending too much.

All in all a great day!
