Big Boy Seat

Today Jack is 11 weeks old. He is getting so big! We went and had his new convertible car seat installed this morning. It's a Britax Roundabout which is supposed to be good for cars with limited rear seat space, which is what we have. He still fits fine in the infant seat, but it's getting a bit heavy to carry and with warmer weather on it's way, we really don't need it anymore. Plus when we go to daycare it'll be easier to just take him in by himself without the seat. The only thing I still like about the infant seat is the fact that I can snap it into the stroller and we can see each other. I'm not ready for him to be facing out in the stroller. I'm probably going to start "wearing" him when running errands until he gets big enough to sit in the cart.

The infant seat has been wonderful during the cold and for taking naps. He doesn't wake up when I take the seat out of the car and snap it in the stroller so he'd usually sleep during outings. But again, since I'm going back to work next week, we won't need the infant seat as much and it was just easier to go ahead and get the new one installed while I have the time. Ok, enough talk! Here is Jack in his new big boy seat:

I love it!! And it looks way more secure and comfortable than the infant seat. The straps are also way easier to loosen and tighten. I totally recommend Britax for your next seat. If you can fit or need a bigger one, the Marathon is great but I am loving my Roundabout! Jack is turning into such a big boy. It's a little sad but also very exciting!

And further proof that he's turning into a big boy- Jack now has his very own savings account. We opened it yesterday. He got money for Christmas that I saved for him and any future monetary gifts will go into his account. I'm happy that I can put money away for him and he can spend it however he wants when he gets older.

Wow, a big boy seat already?! I know what you mean about the infant seat getting heavy.... I seriously struggle with that thing!!! We haven't even purchased or researched a new carseat for B yet. Will have to get around to that. Hope you are enjoying your last week before returning to work!
