A Curious George Birthday Party

Today Jack and I went to Aiden's second birthday party. Aiden loves monkeys, especially Curious George, so the whole party was centered around the famous monkey. It was really cute! The balloons were tied to bunches of bananas and all the food was labeled things like, "monkey mix". Last year I went to his first birthday party almost 6 months pregnant. There was a woman with her 3 month old and one with her 8 month old. Both of them are now pregnant again and were there with their older kids. It's amazing what can happen in one year and it was great seeing them!

Jack is now able to get into a sitting position all by himself. When I went to get him out of his crib this morning, he was sitting up! I got to witness him doing it twice at the party. It was the coolest thing! I'm so proud of him! Here he is after he sat up all by himself (he's also waving which he just started doing this past week!):

My clapping and going "Yay, Jack, you did it!" got him excited!

I love that Jack got a personalized shirt! How clever! Catherine (Aiden's mom, who I have known for 16 years!!) asked everyone for their kid's shirt size and favorite Curious George book. We don't have a favorite book, but she picked a good one for us- Curious George at the Aquarium. Also in the picture is a certificate thanking Jack for coming to the party. More motivation for me to get started on a scrapbook. ;)

Having a baby makes it hard to enjoy a meal. Having a mobile baby at someone else's house and being by yourself? Impossible! But we had a great time and the weather was amazing!!  This has been a busy month for Jack. He's learning all sorts of new things and keeping me very busy. I can't believe that Jack is now able to get into a sitting position. I loved watching him do it. I also love that he has started to wave! It's the cutest thing. We're working on clapping too, but one thing at a time people!
