Jack and I have been very busy these days. I'm trying to get everything set for his birthday party, I got our Christmas pictures and ordered the cards, the housework (i.e. laundry & dishes) never seems to end, and I'm swamped at work. With the holidays right around the corner (and 4 birthday parties!), things won't be slowing down. Anytime I have a free moment to myself (usually between 8-9 at night) all I want to do is sit on the couch and watch t.v. Which means I'm behind on my blogging. There is a lot I haven't blogged about.
Jack got 2 new teeth earlier this month. One on the top right and one on the bottom right, for a total of 6. I'm impatiently waiting for the ones to come in on the left side. I like symmetry! He's had a stuffy/runny nose for a couple weeks now. It was pretty bad for about a week, causing him to sleep poorly. He was constantly waking up and I did what I could to make it better for him. One night I ended up with Jack sleeping on my chest while I sat up in bed. Not very comfortable for me but he was able to breathe better that way. And I can't say I minded the extra snuggling! He's been sleeping much better this past week, but he's been waking around 5am. I'm not happy about this! I really need to start going to bed earlier so that this won't be so big of an issue. He goes back to sleep fairly easily, but I have a really hard time sleeping well after getting up.
Last night Jack started crawling around on all fours. It was so cool to watch! He's a master army crawler and I figured he'd just go from that to walking. Nope! I feel silly being so excited about it, but like I said, it was really cool to see him do it and it was completely out of the blue! I took some video and if I ever get motivated, I'll sort through them and post a few I've been holding onto. He's also pulling up on everything now and cruising all around.
Yesterday I took the day off work so I could go see the new Harry Potter movie. I wish I didn't have to use up a vacation day to do it, but I'm also glad I have the option. I dropped Jack off at daycare and went to a 9:30am showing. It was awesome!! Afterwards I got some lunch, went to Target, and got my hair cut. It was the first time I've been out and about without Jack. It was a little weird!
The new do:
I love it! It's weird that I can't just pull it back, but I love that I finally have some style. I was getting so tired of my hair. The stylist commented on all the baby hairs I now have. Every mom I've talked to has the same issue. It's so weird!
Today was a big day for Jack. We went to Stride Rite and he was fitted for his very own pair of shoes. She said he has extra wide feet and he's off the charts. The poor boy has very chunky feet! His shoe size: a 4 1/2 extra wide. They only make one style of shoe in an extra wide. I was hoping for something snazzy! I wanted to wait until he's actually walking, but since he is pulling up and cruising now, she said it's good to let him get used to the feel of shoes. This boy almost never wears shoes but he didn't mind having them on in the store. Now I just have to remember to put them on him every day! I'll post pics of him wearing them soon.
While we were at the mall we decided to see Santa!! I wasn't sure how Jack would react because lately he doesn't want unfamiliar people to hold him or even come too close to him. Sure enough, as soon as he knew I was trying to hand him over, he pouted and started to get upset. The solution? A photo with Santa that includes both mommy and Jack!! I wish I had worn something a bit more festive, but it turned out good. I'll post it once I get it scanned!
We had great weather today, so after the mall we headed to Butler's Orchard for their holiday open house. I'm going to write about this in a separate post. I gotta go pump and get to bed! Besides, this post is plenty long enough! I'll leave you with a picture. I love the face Jack is making!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Wow - you're one busy mama!
First off, love the haircut! You know what the baby hairs are from (at least around here!)?? A pulling at my hair while she's nursing and/or falling asleep. I think there is likely some variation of that at play with a lot of mamas!
So jealous you got to see Harry Potter. Hoping and praying all goes well with the in-laws to watch Ava next Friday so we can go have our very first date since she was born and see it after we do our Black Friday shopping! Fingers crossed!
Yay, Jack, for crawling! It's always shocking how fast they can get around, even on all fours!!!! Whenever I crawl to have Ava chase after me, it's more of a workout than I'd expect!
Can't wait to see pics with Santa!
We really are so busy this month - it's crazy!
I love your new haircut! Drew and I are taking advantage of the Grandparent babysitters over Thanksgiving to go see Harry Potter. It will be my first time at a movie theater in a year - wow!! Can't wait!
