The results are in from Jack's 4 month doctor visit:
Weight: 18 pounds, 4.5 ounces (95th percentile)
Height: 26 3/4 inches (95%)
Head: 17 1/2 inches (90-95%)
He's a big boy, but luckily not quite as big as I thought! And he's well proportioned. The doctor is pleased and everything is in working order. Jack is also a very brave little guy. He had 2 shots and didn't shed a single tear! He gulped down his oral vaccine and looked a little puzzled after the first shot. I assumed he'd do what he did last time and cry after the second shot. I was standing by his head, holding his hand and talking to him, and when the second shot was over he had no reaction. Then his face turned pouty and he looked like he was going to start crying. I kissed his face and told him it was okay and he stopped. No tears whatsoever. He even smiled! While we waited for the doctor he talked and squealed.
As for starting solids, she said to let Jack tell me when he's ready. I told her I didn't want to start cereal until at least 5 months and she was happy with that. She said that if he starts waking up more often at night, then that probably means he needs more than milk. And she also said that he should drop his 4am feeding all on his own, probably once solids are introduced. Once he goes from 6 feedings a day to 5, I can increase his bottles to 6 ounces, but for now he's good with what I give him. And he'll probably taper off at 6 ounces, meaning he'll never need/want more than that at one feeding. He can also have a little bit of water every day starting at 6 months. I'm excited but I'm not in any rush. Like I said, I am definitely waiting until 5 months and then go from there. Even if I start cereal a bit early, I'm waiting until 6 months to start veggies and fruits. I just have to let Jack tell me when he's ready. One good thing to keep in mind with all of his developments- he can't do things when I'm ready, it has to be when he's ready. I need to remind myself of that sometimes.
Oh, and I forgot to mention in my previous post that this past Tuesday Jack rolled over from back to front! It was at daycare and only once, so I haven't seen it yet. Hopefully the next time he decides to do it, I'll catch it on video or at least be there to witness it.
Have a great weekend!

Yay for rolling over!!!
Jack is a big healthy boy, that's great news!!! High percentiles across the board. Nice work, nice milk, Momma!! :)
Wow!! Look at those percentiles! Love his big gummy grin, by the way!
I can't believe he didn't cry during the shots -- what a brave guy!
He is so darling!
We aren't starting solids yet either - Jack has no interest other than being jealous that we are eating in front of him. Hooray for baby-led feeding!
Aww! What a great mommy you are to comfort him so easily and keep him from crying! What a brave little guy!
I'm totally with you on the cereal/solids thing. Definitely send anymore book/website/etc suggestions my way!
Also - got your card! Thank you! It's my first ever Mother's Day card :) Totally made my day!
