Jack got to wear his sleep gown for the first time. It was just way too hot for his blanket sleeper. We broke a record on Tuesday with temperatures reaching 93! It's back to normal today, thankfully.
Anyway, maybe Jack just wanted a better look at his crib soother. I wonder if he plans on turning himself around again tonight...
Maybe I'll catch him in the act.
I'm excited about his new accomplishment and I think he is too. I bet it's pretty fun!
I just hope this doesn't mess with his sleep at all. Sometimes when a baby starts doing something new (rolling over, crawling, etc.), their sleep suffers for a couple of days. As I write this, he's fidgeting around instead of sleeping soundly like he normally does. He has also been acting like he wants to eat more the last couple of days, so maybe a growth spurt? But I also *think* that he's starting to teethe. I'm no expert though and too many things are happening at once!
I do think that it's time to up his milk intake. At daycare he gets (3) 4.5 ounce bottles (1 every 3 hours) and I think it might be time to increase it to 5 ounces. I'm going to start that on Monday. He's not crying for more, but he does look around for more after the bottle is finished. This worries me because I'm barely pumping enough now so if I increase what he gets, I really won't be pumping enough. How does your body know to start making more milk as your baby gets bigger? I think he'll be more content once I start him on solids. I really can't wait to introduce food (I know Jack can't either!) but I've been dead set on waiting until 6 months to give him anything other than breast milk. I'll definitely be writing more about this later and I'm curious to see what the other moms have planned.
Have a great weekend!!

These boys are growing so quickly!!!! It amazes me!
I plan on waiting until 6 months to give Bennett anything besides breastmilk as well. I can't wait until we can start feeding him baby foods, etc.!!! We recently tried to up the milk as in 5 oz. bottles instead of 4.5 and he had trouble finishing them.. and I hate to waste milk! So we went back to 4.5 oz each bottle (every 3 hours).
What in the world is wrong with Asher?! He nurses every 3 hrs during the day, but I give him a bottle of pumped milk at his last feeding before bed. He takes 6.5 oz! Apparently that's a ton!
My body started making more milk when Asher went through a growth spurt and demanded more frequent feedings for awhile. Is it possible for you to pump more often at work? That will build up your supply faster than just pumping longer. Good luck!
My Jack has been a lot more hungry lately too. I don't pump at all, so it seems like all he does is eat anymore! He hated cereal, so I will be checking with his ped when we go (he is 4 mos tomorrow). I am also going to look into getting a pump...having the option of someone else feeding him sounds like such freedom!!
Oh, and Jack is teething too. He has really developed an obsession with Sophie, his fingers, and pretty much anything he can get in his mouth. It's cute, the extra drool - not so much!!
I have been meaning to post on the whole solid foods and when issue, but haven't had a chance yet. I'm planning to wait until 6 months as well, long story short. The research really makes a good case for it, though of course all babies are different!
I have thought Ava has been teething for a while, and feel around for any swelling or differences in her gums, but nothing yet. She's been a bit fussy the past two days, but it may just be because I've been so sick and not playing much? *most* babies get bottom teeth first, so I'd watch his bottom gums for any swelling or other even slight changes!
Have you tried pumping before work and again after Jack as gone to bed at night? I pump 4x a day (morning, 2x at work, and after Amelia's in bed). I also nurse in the morning and 2x after work. This helped me increase my supply. I got enough milk for the following day (she takes 2 5oz bottles) with just my morning pump session. I freeze the milk from the other pumping sessions. Also, fenugeek worked for me.... but it makes you smell a little like maple syrup.
