Happy 2 Months!

Today is Jack's 2 month birthday! Yesterday we visited the home daycare he'll be attending in 3 short weeks. There's really only one girl there right now, a 3 year old. Her 6 year old sister is in school and goes for before and after care. Their mom just had a baby boy about a week ago and he'll start in a couple months so Jack will have a little friend! The woman is extremely loving and will do whatever routine or schedule I ask her to. I signed a consent for her to go on "outings" with Jack. It's actually a bit scary to think that someone who isn't family might be taking him to the pool or in a car. I wish I could stay home with Jack for the first year. I think I would be less anxious if he was already walking and talking. That way he can tell me for himself what goes on. I guess I'll never really be comfortable with someone else caring for him though, no matter when or where.

Jack had his 2 month doctor visit today. He's a big, healthy baby!

Weight: 14 Lbs., 7.5 oz. (95-97 percentile)
Height: 25 1/4 inches (97%)
Head: 16 1/4 inches (75-90%)

He's pretty much wearing all 3-6 month clothing now and as soon as we use up the rest of the size 1 diapers that are open, we're moving on to size 2. I've heard that babies growth starts to slow about this time and I hope that's true! At this rate he'll be out of his infant carseat by 6 months! The height limit on it is 29 inches and he's 25!

He had to get 2 shots in his thighs today. I thought it would be much worse. He took one vaccine orally and he didn't mind that at all. I swear this kid is going to be a good eater! He'll eat anything! He was given one shot in his left thigh and he didn't even seem to notice. But once he got the one on the right side, that's when the crying started. I was able to console him though (luckily I didn't need any consoling!) and he was good by the time the doctor came in to check him out. What a trooper!! His next visit is at 4 months and he'll get more shots. I'm trying to decide if I should just take the day off of work so I can be home with him in case he gets fussy and needs some cuddling. He did good today but I think I'd rather be with him.

I tried out something new today with pictures. I actually stole the idea from another blogger. It's way cute and I hope to do it every month for the first year as long as Jack will let me!
