Since Jack was born I've been filing his nails. They don't seem long enough to cut and it terrifies me to do it. They get very sharp very quickly and I file them pretty regularly which has been working. A couple of weeks ago he had a nail where half was longer and I decided to go ahead and cut it. Success! This past Monday I noticed it was time to take care of his nails once again and I decided to try and cut them. Filing takes a long time and I figured that I could do a better job cutting them. I cut all of the nails on his right hand without any problems. I was thrilled! I moved on to the left hand and started on his thumb. When I pressed down, I suspected I had gotten some skin but he didn't bat an eye so I thought I was in the clear. Then he let out a loud cry and I felt so bad! I guess he had a delayed reaction! I felt horrible!! I know it probably happens to everyone and it wasn't very bad but I still hate that I hurt him! Needless to say, I went back to filing and will continue to file. Here is a picture of the damage to his poor little thumb, which is barely noticeable.
I've started playing music for Jack throughout the day. It seems that he really likes the song "Witchy Woman" because whenever I play it he smiles! I've tested it out 3 different times now. I'm not a big fan of the song myself, but anything that gives me this smile is fine with me!
We had a second round of snow yesterday and we beat the record for the most amount of snow in one winter. It was a record that was set over 100 years ago. I'm really looking forward to Spring and taking this little guy outside to play. I'm tired of all the snow! The one good thing about all the snow is that it's kept my dad home from work and Jack has enjoyed spending some quality time with his grandpa. It's also nice for me to able to get lunch knowing that Jack is in good hands!
