3 weeks

As of yesterday, Jack is now 3 weeks old. This first month is going by fast and he's already changed so much. He has more awake periods and it can be hard to find ways to occupy him. He doesn't care about toys yet and he only likes his bouncer chair for about 10 minutes before he's had enough. He does really good though and only fusses if he's gassy, hungry, or wet. And by wet I mean he's peed through his diaper and onto his clothes. He really doesn't seem to mind if his diaper is dirty and he doesn't mind getting changed which is nice.

He's completely out of the newborn clothes and diapers. He is wearing all 0-3 month clothes and he's in size 1 diapers. I'm amazed at how many diapers we've gone through. Luckily I haven't had to buy any until now and I have a few packages of both size 2 and 3 from my shower. I'm so grateful I got so many diapers at my shower! Thank goodness for people's generosity and for breastfeeding. I'd be broke right now if I had had to buy all these diapers and formula. I don't know how people do it; it adds up fast!

Breastfeeding is still going very well. He's going a bit longer in between feedings which is nice for me and I am still amazed at how great of a nurser he is. I heard so many horror stories before having him and I expected a lot of soreness and pain. I have had absolutely NO pain whatsoever. It's been really great. I pumped for the first time yesterday and got about 2oz and today I got 3. My goal is to pump at least 2oz. every day to store in the freezer for when I go back to work. I'm also going to give him his first bottle this weekend and give him one every other day or so. I hope it goes well! It's been hard doing everything on my own, but I love him so much and I wouldn't trade this experience for anything.

I've been doing some exercising using the Wii Fit Plus. I've only used it a few times but it tracks your weight. I've already lost more than 30 pounds since having Jack. It's incredible and I credit breastfeeding for the majority of that. I gained 50 with him so I've just got about 20 more to go. I just want to be able to wear my pre-pregnancy pants. My maternity pants are all too big but all of my old pants are too small. I really don't want to buy any new clothes but I can't go to work wearing sweats so we'll see!

Jack had a doctors appointment on Monday to tie off his extra digits. It went really fast and Jack did great. I think I did worse than him. They made me go to another room to wait for him which I hated. I could hear him crying and I got really upset but when they brought him to me only minutes later, he looked good and wasn't upset at all. The nurse said he had only gotten upset because she was holding his hands down but he was fine during the actual procedure. I'm just glad it's over with. We go for his one month check-up at the end of the month but until then we don't have anything scheduled.

Here are a few pics I love from the last couple of days:

So darn cute!!!
