Weight- 9 lbs, 2 1/2 oz.
Height - 22 inches
Head- 15 inches (was 14 1/4 at birth)
The main point of the 2-week visit is to make sure the baby is back to their birth weight and Jack has exceeded that by more than one pound. The doc is pleased and she doesn't think he's gained too much. That was a relief. Nursing has been going really well and I'm so grateful for that. It's very demanding and I'm the only person who can feed him, but it's the best for him. It's also very rewarding and it's free! I'm very glad I'm able to breastfeed and he is such a great nurser. The doc said that he should be able to go 4-5 hours in between feedings at night since he's gaining so well and 3 hours during the day. I wish that were the case!!
His cord stump fell off at 9 days and I still haven't given him a bath yet. There is some dried blood in his belly button and today the doc said there is moisture in there. She wants it to dry out before submerging it in water, about another day or two. I'm thinking I'll try a bath on Friday. I want to bathe him but I know he won't like it because it'll be so cold. I've gotta do it though!
He's getting so big already and I can't believe he's over 9 pounds! The newborn diapers are getting a bit tight so once I've used up the last of what I have, we're moving on to size 1. He's still wearing newborn outfits and some 0-3 month sleepers. I have some 2 and 3-piece outfits that are still a bit too big but he should be wearing them very soon.
