Weekend visitors

First, a little background info on me: My whole family (from both sides) is from upstate NY and they all still live there. I lived with my mom until I was 12, when I decided I wanted to come live with my dad in Maryland which is where I have been ever since (except for my last 2 years of college when I lived in North Carolina). Because my mom and all of my dad's family were all in NY, we visited every Christmas and I spent my summers there. I kept in touch with a few close friends and saw them every time I visited. Now, 18 years later, one of my best friend's and I both have babies only 10 weeks apart!

We had been planning this visit for a little over 2 months and I can't believe it's already over. My mom happened to have the weekend off and Vanessa didn't mind the company (and the help with a 5 month old on a 6 hour trip). We hadn't seen my mom in 6 months and Jack has changed quite a bit! It was great having them here.

Jack was happy (mostly) to share all of his toys with Alexa and they played very nicely together. It's so neat to watch babies interact!

We took them to the baby pool on Friday and everyone had a great time. The pool has 2 water slides and we (the adults) all went down the fast one! It was so much fun!

After the pool we went shopping and ate at Joe's Crab Shack. We had planned on going to the aquarium on Saturday because it's indoors and it's been so hot. It actually wasn't too bad out, so I suggested we go to the zoo instead. Well I think all of these 100+ degree days have warped my mind because it was pretty darn hot! Jack seemed completely fine and wasn't sweating, but poor little Alexa was one big ball of sweat so we left early. We were there for a few hours and got to see a lot. There was still a lot that we missed, but I'll take Jack again when it's cooler and he can enjoy it better. 

I'm going to post our zoo pictures separately and probably tomorrow night because it's getting late. I have to finish laundry and pump and try to get to bed at a decent time! Good night!
