I discovered a blog with some helpful tips and ideas on taking better photographs. I'm really trying to get out of automatic mode and into manual, and I have found so many good blogs and photographers along the way. I discovered Kristen Duke Photography and she has some wonderful tips. Click HERE to see a list of some of her best posts all in one place. It was on that page that I found what I came here to share with all of you.
I came across a post about decorating your home with family portraits and how important it is for children to see images of them being loved. I thought I'd share it with all of you, since most of us are the ones behind the camera. I love this line:
"We love to look at our children (and so do they) but they also need to look at you. Don't worry about the fact that you still need to lose that last 15 pounds, your children love you for you, and you need to be remembered at this time in their lives."
Click the link to read the full post and see some examples of how she has decorated her own home. After reading this, I went to her direct blog and found more on this topic. I love her ideas and the examples that her readers have shared. Check out this post from Kiki Creates. I absolutely LOVE the dry erase frame idea and I am definitely doing it! There are a lot of other great examples too. Check them out for yourself and get inspired!
Here's my desk at work. It's not the best picture because I used my cell phone, but you get the idea. Lots of pictures of Jack (the top is completely covered!) and a few of him and I together. I even have 2 pictures on my window sill and 2 paper weights with his picture. :) I don't have that many framed pictures at home, but I plan on changing that. I can't wait to decorate with portraits!

This couldn't have come at a better time, since I'm trying to work my way out of auto and into manual also! Thanks for this!
