On Christmas Eve we made a big batch of sugar cookies to decorate for Santa (and ourselves). It was Jack's first time making cookies and it was so much fun!
Mmmm....so good!
Look, mom!
Our finished cookies
Taste test!
After making cookies, Jack put on his new Christmas pajamas and we started another new tradition- watching the Polar Express! It had been a couple years since I'd watched it but I remember it being a great movie. I thought Jack might like it, especially the big train! I was worried he wouldn't pay much attention to it (as we had never watched a full-length movie before), but he sat for almost the whole thing! He sat on his Cars couch and I sat on the floor next to him. At one point he laid down with his head on me. I really wish we had gotten a picture! He was memorized by it and I was reminded why I had bought it in the first place. It really is a great movie; I even got teary-eyed at the end! We had a great (and quiet) day relaxing at home. I look forward to many more Christmas Eve's just like this one.

Such a great tradition to start! I love the decorated cookies - baking doesn't quite seem like a chore when the kiddos are helping!
