Road Trip!

As you all know, Jack and I took a short road trip last weekend. Friday morning I picked up this beauty:

It was a HUGE step up from what I normally drive.

I loved having the extra space and I felt so much safer. I really can't wait to get a new car now!!

Jack enjoyed it too! We headed out around 9:30. I had no idea how Jack was going to be and I expected he would sleep longer than usual. Well he only slept for an hour there and about an hour and a half back. But he did pretty good on the 7 hour trip. I kept toys, books, and snacks on the passenger seat and if he started to get too restless, I just handed him something new. It worked pretty well! The TotSwap was that week so I was able to get him some "new" stuff to keep him busy. :) Plus, I put a mirror on the headrest which he really loved! I've had one but can't use it in my small car and was really happy to finally get some use out of it.

The drive to NY and back takes you through Pennsylvania. The mountains seem to go on forever, but it's really beautiful and much better than just driving on a highway with no scenery.

And yes, I used my phone while driving to take these pictures. But I didn't even look at the phone. I just pointed and clicked and hoped something would come out!

I wish we could have stayed longer, but it's hard to sleep anywhere other than your own bed and it's nice getting back into our normal routine. I'm really looking forward to our next visit though, hopefully for Christmas!

As soon as I get a new car, I'm taking Jack to the beach. It's only a 3 hour drive and I've been wanting to take him for awhile now. I hope it's before October, otherwise we'll have to wait until next year. It'll just be for one night, but I can't wait!

awww, he looks so precious sleeping in the car seat!

looks like you had a successful trip - so glad it was relatively stress-free. Any tips for toddler travel? We've got a family vacation to CA coming up via plane and I'm stressin'...

Aw. Love those pictures of him in his seat. It's great to get him used to traveling young, because if you do it now you will have a great traveler for life :) We do 17 hour (one way) drives about twice a year and Ethan seemed to do awesome the last two times we did it. What kind of car are you thinking of getting when you get a new one? That was a Rav4 right? i LOVE LOVE LOVE my Toyota. Wish it was bigger. Lol. It's a highlander and two carseats and Cameron trying to buckle next to them is just not going to be practical. haha. I hope you get to the beach before October!
