Fire Department Open House

Last weekend our local fire department had their annual open house. I knew I wanted to take Jack because he loves rescue vehicles and I couldn't pass up the chance to let him see them up close and personal. They had more than I expected and we had a great time!

Funny thing about the ambulance- when Jack first got inside I reminded him that ambulances take people to the hospital. He immediately got a worried look on his face because he was thinking they were going to take him away. Once I reassured him that he wasn't going anywhere he was fine! I should also mention that he was by himself with just the EMT (I was outside) and I think the idea of going alone without mommy and daddy was what really upset him. Poor guy!

Such a fun day! We also walked through a police bus, enjoyed popcorn and cotton candy, and bid on a few silent auction items (didn't win- boo!). I had no idea they do this every year and it's less than 2 miles from our house. We'll definitely go for as long as they do it or until we move out of the area (which may or may not happen but wouldn't be for awhile).

Tomorrow we're going to a harvest festival. Yay fall! :-)
