Today marks one year that I have been back at work and Jack has been going to daycare. I absolutely hate working full time and my goal is to cut my hours by the time Jack starts school. I want to be there to greet him when he gets off the bus (or I'll pick him up). And I'm also not going to have another baby and continue working full time. Not that I'm planning on another baby anytime soon (or anytime at all really!), so don't get any ideas! :) I'd really like to have another baby a few years from now, but that's really not the point of this post and not something I'm thinking about or planning!
Anyways, I'm so grateful that I found such a great place for Jack to spend his days. He goes to a home daycare and the woman who watches him is wonderful. She and her family love Jack so much. It's going to be so hard on her when I send him to preschool, but that won't be for another couple years!
Back in January we got some snow and she took Jack out sledding. They took a bunch of pictures and she made me a nice little album. Here's one of the 2 of them:
For a few months Jack was the only kid going there, but about a month ago he got a new little friend. I think he's 7 or 8 months old.
I'm glad he has a friend to play with. And Jack LOVES kids and he plays so well. It's fun to watch him interact with them! Sidenote: this picture was taken in her living room, but she has a huge play and learning area down in her basement where her daycare is based. It's such a great place!
It'll be hard to leave, but we don't need to go down that road for at least 2 years. I wish I could spend more time with Jack, but it's such a relief knowing that he is in such good hands.
I can't belive it's been a year already!!

Isn't it wonderful to know he's getting good care while you're at work? I feel the same way about Anne's sitter. I'm with you on wanting to get a more flexible life before our babies start school!
It is a huge relief and comfort to know that your child is in the care of someone good. We had a hiccup in finding B's 2nd daycare and I'm so glad we overcame it and found an awesome place for my sweet babe. Good luck with finding better hours for you and Jack. :)
