I had every intention of writing this post last Friday night since Jack had his appointment that afternoon. Well here it is Tuesday and I'm just getting started. We've been very busy and as you might have seen, Jack started walking! So many exciting things are happening. April is going to be a super busy and fun month! But I digress.
Jack is now 15 months old and getting bigger and cuter every day. I get so excited to pick him up from daycare each day as I never know what to expect. He's learning things so fast now.
At 15 months, Jack:
*is 26.5 pounds (75th percentile)
*is 33 inches tall (95%)
*has a 19.5 inch head (95-97%)
*wears size 24 months clothes
*wears size 5 diapers
*has 11 teeth!!
*is walking!!! (he started walking at 15 months and 2 days)
*is crazy about paper, specifically receipts
*loves balls, blocks, and toy cars
Jack still isn't saying any words, but he can hold a conversation like no other. He talks, I just can't understand what he's saying! Last night I showed him pictures of a baby and he was actually trying to say baby. Every time I said the word, he laughed and then tried to say it back and would say "bay-bay". So maybe "baby" is his first word??
Jack loves his Signing Time dvd's and he regularly signs milk, thank you, and bird. Yes, bird. He doesn't sign more (we're working on that one), but he signs bird. And he uses them correctly. He gets so into it; it's really cute!
Jack still loves the water. He loves bath time and we started a swim class a couple weeks ago. He loves it! He doesn't even mind water going over his head. It's crazy how much this boy loves the water! Another thing he loves? Trucks. If we can catch the recycling truck on trash days, he loves watching it. He stops to watch any kind of truck or bus that is driving by. He also likes to push his cars (and anything with wheels) around the floor. He even likes to push the vaccuum around. I got him his own toy vaccuum and he still prefers the big one!
This boy really likes to eat and I'm starting to wonder if there is anything he won't eat. He has definitely inherited my love of carbs- bread, pasta, potatoes, crackers etc. He loves cheese and fruit too but he also gobbles up meat and veggies. Lately he's been eating a ton and doesn't leave a single morsel on his tray. It's insane!
It's so fun to watch him figure out how something works. Right now he likes things that he can pull apart and put back together. He takes the straw out of his cup and then carefully puts it back in the hole. He has a bucket with blocks in it that he hands to me so I can take the lid off and then he puts it back on. We repeat this process many times! He also likes to take the lids on and off pots and pans. This is how he entertains himself while I'm fixing a meal! He's recently become interested in the buckles on both his high chair and car seat. It's too early for him to learn how to unbuckle himself!
Putting the circle shape in the circle hole:
Starting to get some hair:
Jack is really keeping me on my toes, but it's so wonderful! It keeps getting better and better and more fun!
Happy 15 months, Jack. I love you so so much!
