He requested pancakes for breakfast and I was happy to oblige. I made pancakes and scrambled eggs with a side of strawberries and orange juice.
Jack opened his presents from Grandpa then we headed out to the mall. I figured I was crazy for going to the mall 2 days before Christmas, but I told Jack he could pick one special thing to do and he wanted Build-A-Bear. So off to the mall we went! Unfortunately, the mall we went to didn't have a Build-A-Bear. But we went to the Disney store and Jack saw a Lightening McQueen race car he really wanted. I explained to him that he could get it plus one other car but that would mean we couldn't make a stuffed animal. He was fine with that! And the Disney Store came through, making Jack feel extra special with a birthday crown and button. It was great!
Jack napped and then we went to one of our favorite restaurants, Elevation Burger. They have the best cheeseburgers!
After that we went home for cake and presents. I made a batch of cupcakes for Jack to take to daycare the Friday before and used the rest of the batter to make 3 extra large cupcakes. We paired them with ice cream and it was perfect!

Ahhhh, you are an awesome Mother, Rene'!!! Jack is so lucky!!!! You rock, seriously. That sounds like a GREAT birthday. Everyone always says the same thing about Bennett's birthday - how he will be robbed because it's so close to Christmas. Blah. I am also going to do my very best to make sure that never happens to him either. :) I love birthdays and I think they are very important and should always be special. :) I've even considered doing a half/summer birthday celebration for him also every year. Happy 3 again to Jack!!!!!!!
We get a lot of the same comments about how unfortunate it is that her birthday is near Christmas - and I always hate it! Aren't birthdays what you make of them? We always do our best to make it amazing, also! Sounds like Jack had the most perfect day!
