National Zoo (Part 3)

All the big cats were sleeping by the time we got to them, but they're still beautiful! Next time we just need to go earlier. :)

We got to the elephant at the right time to see him walking around. So cool!





We ended up walking a total of 6 1/2 miles that day! I definitely want to go again and earlier. I have a feeling the animals are up and moving around more in the morning. The lions and tigers were sleeping by the time we got to them and the gorillas weren't outside. It was fun though and I'm glad we finally went. We hadn't been since 2010 and hopefully it won't be another 2 years before we make it back! This was also my first time going with my digital SLR. I definitely had a lot of fun with it! :)

I still want to take Jack to the airplane park, but with October approaching and all the fun that comes along with it (fall festivals, pumpkin patch, my birthday, Halloween, etc.) that might have to wait until spring.

On another note, I know I've been terrible about blogging regularly and I'm honestly not sure that it's going to get any better. I've been waking up at 5:30 to work out and the mornings are pretty much a blur. We're out the door by 8:30 and I pick Jack up at 5:30. I've been trying to run 3 times a week (taking advantage of the cooler weather before daylight savings ends!) and I always take Jack with me. We end our run at a nearby park so he can get out his energy. We go home and he always watches Doc McStuffins at 7:30. This is when I do dishes, clean up, and sometimes just sit and veg with him. Oh, and somewhere in there we both eat dinner! :o We go upstairs at 8 to get ready for bed and we're both usually asleep by 9:15. I try to catch up on TV after my workout in the morning...that is if Jack actually sleeps in and lets me have some time! Other than that I really don't have much time for anything else, at least not during the week. And I'm okay with that. I'd rather be spending time with Jack and working on my health. I am trying to update my running/fitness blog semi-regularly though. Please follow me! I'm almost done with Jillian Michaels 30 day Shred and then I'm going to start her DVD Ripped in 30. So excited! I have a long way to go but I can see and feel changes after just 1 month.
