We had a great weekend overall, very low-key and relaxed which is what I wanted. I started my Mother's Day with a 10 mile run followed my lunch at mine and Jack's favorite burger joint, Elevation Burger. While the boys napped, I baked a chocolate cake for work and enjoyed 45 minutes of TV time! Then we went for ice cream. Jack made me a macaroni necklace at daycare which I wore proudly all day. :)
I wanted to share some pictures from Saturday. We went to a Spring Fest at a local outdoor shopping center. We were there right when the festivities started and there weren't any long lines. we got in line for face painting, which we had never done before because the lines are always very long. Jack wanted to do it and when I asked him what he wanted he just said, "orange!" I wasn't sure how he'd do sitting in the big chair by himself while a stranger touched his face. We decided on a tiger and the artist said she would only do the top half because she wasn't sure he'd sit for too long. To my amazement, he did great! He sat still and didn't act scared. He was a bit unsure of what was happening, but the end result was awesome and he kept wanting to look at himself in my mirror. And he got a bit upset when I washed it off in the bath that night. "Why you wash off tiger, mommy?" Haha! Maybe I have this year's Halloween costume?
I don't get very many pictures of us and, despite the tiger face (or maybe because of), we got a few good ones that afternoon. I neglected to get one of us on Mother's Day but since I had just gotten these the day before, I wasn't too worried about it. :)
Happy (belated) Mother's Day!!!! It truly is the greatest blessing!
