My birthday was October 22, so I'm a bit late blogging about it (almost a month late?!). Better late than never though, right? Anyway, it being my 30th, I wanted to have a birthday dinner. Nothing too fancy, just some good friends, good food, and lots of laughs. The last time I had a birthday dinner was for my 27th. We went to Joe's Crab Shack, it was all adults, and afterwards we went to a bar to listen to a band and drink. This year there were almost as many kids as adults (including my own!) and not a whole lot of drinking. I ordered one margarita but I didn't even finish half of it! Haha, what have I turned into? But I much preferred this birthday dinner over previous ones. And my date was definitely the most handsome. See for yourself (and prepare for a ton of pictures):
We went to Guapos and it happened to be their 20th anniversary the same day. The whole outside was decorated with balloons. We got there early so we could make sure the table was ready (and all 5 highchairs were in place) and greet everyone as they got there. While we waited, Jack enjoyed playing with the balloons!
My one drink of the night:
The table:
I made sure Eva would sit next to Jack so they could keep themselves entertained and boy, did they! These 2 are super cute together and have a blast! We saw them every weekend in October and Jack can't stop talking about Eva. I can't wait to see them again this weekend!
My friend Catherine (who I've known since 8th grade) and her baby Charlotte. Her husband and 3 year old were also there.
Allison & Chrissie- 2 wonderful people I used to work with and I'm so happy to have them as friends:
The birthday girl! And FYI: I do not get embarrassed easily. In fact, I love this stuff!
Jack was not sure what to make of the sombrero. At least he put it on- Eva wouldn't touch it!
I'm so thankful for my mom's group for giving me and Jack some wonderful, life-long friends. This is Eleni, Eva's mom (who's expecting her second in January!):
Izabela, David, & Patrick (again, friend's through the mom's group)
Jack, Eva, and Patrick are all December babies and there are only 2 weeks between them. Our other friend Vincent was there too with his mom and dad but somehow I didn't get a picture of them. You can sorta see them in the pic of the table!
Guapos is such a fun place and perfect for taking kids. Everyone commented on how great it was. There were a few people I wish could've made it, but I had so much fun. And I should also mention that that morning, my friend Theresa took me to get a manicure & pedicure. I think it had been 3 years (if not more) since my last manicure so it was a nice treat. Overall, a pretty great birthday! I got some unexpected gifts and my office surprised me with an ice cream pie from Coldstone. What could be better then some girl time at the spa, a fun dinner with friends and ice cream pie???

sounds like a wonderful birthday! I haven't blogged about mine yet either and it was on the 18th of October. Oh well! Isn't it funny how things that seemed important just a few years ago, seem so trivial now. I am kind of jealous you got half a margarita though, lol!
How fun! That place looks like something we have here, and strangely enough, I've always found Mexican restaurants to be especially kid friendly!
I agree with Ashlie's comment, too. Things that were so important to me three or four years ago are hardly even important at all now, and things that would've made me roll my eyes years ago - like spending family time watching Tangled - are awesome now :)
Happy {waaay belated} birthday!
You had the CUTEST dinner date! ha! So glad it was a fun one for you - even with the lack of margaritas. :)
